LET'S START!

Note. The decreases on the cloud are made by crocheting 2 stitches together; in English this is called sc2tog. If you don't know how to do them, check the video tutorial — this part is at minute 7:42.

Row 1: Start by making 6 chains. Turn and work along the back side.

Row 2: 5 single crochets. Ch 1 and turn, working along the back side.

Row 3: Start in the first stitch and make 1 increase, then 3 sc and 1 increase (7 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 4: Start in the first stitch and make 1 increase, then 5 sc and 1 increase (9 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 5: Start in the first stitch and make 8 sc and 1 increase (10 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 6: Start in the first stitch and make 10 sc + 5 chains (15 sts). Turn directly, do not add a chain.

Row 7: Start in the first stitch and make 14 sc. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 8: Start in the first stitch and make 13 sc and 1 increase (15 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Rows 9 and 10: Start in the first stitch and make 15 sc. Ch 1 and turn at the end of each row.

Row 11: Start in the first stitch and make 1 decrease, then 11 sc and 1 decrease (13 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 12: Start in the first stitch and make 11 sc and 1 decrease (12 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 13: Start in the first stitch and make 1 decrease, then 9 sc and 1 increase (12 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 14: Start in the first stitch and make 10 sc. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 15: Start in the first stitch and make 1 increase, then 9 sc (11 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 16: Start in the first stitch and make 10 sc and 1 increase (12 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 17: Start in the first stitch and make 1 increase, then 11 sc (13 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 18: Start in the first stitch and make 11 sc and 1 decrease (12 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 19: Start in the first stitch and make 1 decrease, then 10 sc (11 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Rows 20 and 21: Start in the first stitch and make 9 sc (11 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 22: Start in the first stitch and make 1 decrease – 5 sc – 1 decrease (7 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 23: Start in the first stitch and make 1 decrease – 3 sc – 1 decrease (5 sts). Ch 1 and turn.

Row 24: Start in the first stitch and make 5 single crochets.

Fasten off and, using a yarn needle, weave the yarn end to the inside and secure it with one knot so the knot doesn't sit right on the edge. Also weave in the starting tail to the inside so the initial knot is less visible.

Make another identical piece, but do not cut the yarn at the end — leave it attached to the skein.

Join both halves

Join the two pieces by working single crochets evenly all around.

At the bottom of the cloud, there is a small gap. To make it more defined, work 2 slip stitches in the deepest part.

Before closing completely, remember to insert the safety eyes and stuff the piece.
If you are going to embroider the eyes with yarn, you can stuff it completely and close it first, and add the eyes afterward.

Blush

Make a magic ring with 6 stitches, close the ring and make 1 slip stitch into the first stitch of the next round to close.
Cut the yarn, leaving a long enough tail for sewing.

Sew it onto the cloud, catching the full stitch.

Finish by securing with 1 knot, then pass the needle through the cloud and cut the excess yarn so the end is hidden inside.

Eyes

If you are using safety eyes, the plastic backing will not stick out; just make sure to add enough stuffing.

If you want to make sleepy eyes, I've drawn the chart you'll see next to show you the step-by-step in a very simple way. Don't worry — it's easier than it looks.

Take a piece of black yarn long enough to make both eyes. Using a yarn needle, pass the yarn through the back of the cloud and bring the needle out where you want the outer corner of the eye to start. Leave about 5 cm (2 in) of yarn on the outside.

It's important to insert the needle through a clearly visible stitch space and make sure it doesn't split or catch any yarn strands.

As you can see, I bring the needle out through the area closest to the edge to start working on the outside of the eye. If you look at the chart below, this is considered the first stitch.

How to Read the Chart to Make the Eyes:

The red color means you bring the needle out at that spot.
The blue color means you insert the needle at that spot.

In the photo above, you can see number 1 – we brought the needle out at that point.
2 – insert the needle one row below #1, leaving three rows of space (or as long as you want the eye to be).

3 (lower eyelid) – bring the needle out one row below #2, leaving one row of lateral space.

4 – insert the needle one row above (you need to pass the needle over the thread).

5 (starting the second eyelid) – bring the needle out at the same height as #3, leaving one row of lateral space.

6 – insert the needle at the same height as #2 and #4 (pass the needle over the thread).

7 – for the other eye, bring the needle out at the same height as #2, leaving the spacing you want between the eyes.

8 – insert the needle.
9 – bring the needle out.
10 – insert the needle.
11 – bring the needle out.
12 – insert the needle and bring it out through the same hole where you started before #1.

Once the final thread is next to the starting strand (the one that sticks out about 5 cm), make a couple of knots with both strands. Trim the threads close to the knot, and with the tip of the yarn needle, push the knots inside the cloud so they aren't visible.

I found this to be the easiest way to explain how to make this type of eyes in writing. If it's still not clear, you can always check the video tutorial. 😊

Heart

Part 1

Round 1: Magic ring with 5 stitches.

Round 2: 5 increases.

Round 3: 10 single crochets. When finished, make 1 slip stitch in the next stitch, cut the yarn, and pull through the loop.

Use a yarn needle to secure with 1 knot inside, near the center (the knot should not be on the edge).

Make another half the same way without cutting the yarn that goes back to the skein.

Part 2

Round 1: Place both halves facing you. Insert the hook through the first piece you made, in the stitch where you made the slip stitch. Make 1 slip stitch. Mark this as the first stitch of round 1.

Continue with 10 single crochets.

To move to the other half, make 1 slip stitch in the same spot where you started. As a reference, follow the yarn that joins both halves – where the yarn ends, make the slip stitch. Adjust this stitch carefully.

Continue with 10 single crochets.

Round 2: 1 decrease – 7 single crochets – 2 decreases – 7 single crochets – 1 decrease.

(Make sure not to skip the first stitch when doing a decrease; it's often very, very hidden.) At the end of the round, you should have 22 stitches. If not, undo and repeat carefully, paying close attention to the decreases.

Round 3: 3 single crochets – 2 decreases – 5 single crochets – 2 decreases – 2 single crochets.

Round 4: 2 single crochets – 2 decreases – 3 single crochets – 2 decreases – 1 single crochet.

Stuff the heart.

Round 5: 1 single crochet – 2 decreases – 1 single crochet – 2 decreases.

Cut the yarn, leaving enough length to finish closing the heart and hang it on the cloud. Using a yarn needle, pass the needle through the front of the 5 stitches.
If the gap is small, you may not need to pass the needle through all the stitches.

When finished, secure with 1 knot, then pass the needle through the top of the heart. Secure with another knot on the cloud at the desired length.
